It’s funny you mention how little or how much a language has changed over time because, as a native Croatian speaker, when I was in high school, reading books written in the 12th century meant having to buy the modern-day Croatian translation of them 😅
Thank you so much! I didn’t know that about Croatian (Slavic languages aren’t my area), but I suspect that such rapid rates of change are more the rule than the exception. Conservative languages like Icelandic and Romeyka seem to be relatively rare!
